About Our Equine Operations
Dr. Paige Moritz founded this Woodstock practice and runs it entirely from the truck — there is no clinic building. The work centres on lameness: flexion tests, nerve and joint blocks, digital radiography, and ultrasound of tendons and ligaments, followed by treatment through joint injection, ultrasound-guided injection into sites such as the sacroiliac and cervical facet joints, platelet-rich plasma, stem cells or Noltrex, a lubricant used against arthritis. Shockwave runs ten to fifteen minutes a session and most horses take it without sedation. Neurological evaluations cover EPM and wobbler syndrome. There is no MRI on board, so cases needing one are referred out. Pre-purchase and pre-lease examinations, performance soundness exams and USDA travel certificates round out the list, across Cook, DeKalb, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Walworth.
