Last Updated: June 21, 2026

Last Updated: June 20, 2026 HorseCareFinder (“HorseCareFinder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates horsecarefinder.com (the “Site”), a directory connecting horse owners with equine service providers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

Account Registration. When you create an account, we collect your full name, business name (if applicable), email address, and password. Provider Listings. If you list your business in our directory, we collect business name, service category, street address, city, state, ZIP, county, contact phone number, business email, website URL, business hours, pricing notes, service area, and a business description. You may also choose to upload photos and indicate service flags such as mobile/ambulatory operations, current availability for new clients, and 24/7 emergency service (including a separate emergency contact number). Contact Forms and Inquiries. When you contact us or inquire about a listed provider, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message. Payment Information. If you purchase a paid listing plan, payment is processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full credit card number, CVV, or other full payment card details on our own servers — Stripe handles that directly. We receive limited transaction information from Stripe, such as confirmation of payment, the plan purchased, and billing status.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and approximate geographic location derived from your IP address (used, for example, to support location-based directory search). This information is typically collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 3).

Information From Third Parties

We may receive limited information from Stripe related to payment status, and from our hosting provider related to account security and uptime monitoring.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:
  • Operate and maintain the directory, including displaying provider listings and processing location-based searches
  • Create and manage user accounts and provider dashboards
  • Process listing purchases, upgrades, and renewals through Stripe
  • Respond to inquiries submitted through contact forms or provider inquiry forms
  • Send transactional communications, such as account confirmations, billing receipts, and listing status updates
  • Maintain the “My Barn” saved-providers feature for registered users
  • Monitor, secure, and improve the Site, and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your search preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may limit certain features, such as staying signed in or saving providers to “My Barn.”

4. How We Share Your Information

Public Directory Listings. Provider listing information is, by design, displayed publicly as part of the directory. The visibility of your direct contact information depends on your listing tier:
  • Free listings display your business name, category, and general service area, but do not publicly display direct contact information.
  • Paid listings (Monthly, Annual, or Lifetime/Founding) display full contact information, including phone, email, and website, as part of the plan’s benefits.
You control what you submit in your listing; do not include information you don’t want made public. Service Providers. We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including:
  • Stripe, for payment processing
  • Our hosting provider, for storing and serving the Site
  • Email delivery services, for sending account, billing, and transactional emails
These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us, not for their own independent purposes. Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of HorseCareFinder, our users, or the public. Business Transfers. If HorseCareFinder is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We’ll notify you of any such change. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and listing information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the Site’s services. If you delete your account or cancel a listing, we’ll remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to retain it for legal, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Account Information. You can review and update your account and listing information at any time through your provider dashboard. Marketing Emails. Transactional emails (billing receipts, account notices) cannot be opted out of while your account is active, but you may opt out of any non-essential marketing emails using the unsubscribe link included in those messages. Account Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us at the email address below. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., billing records). State Privacy Rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (such as California’s CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request deletion, and opt out of certain types of data sharing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Third-Party Links

Provider listings and other parts of the Site may link to third-party websites (such as a provider’s own business website). We aren’t responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
