These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of horsecarefinder.com (the “Site”), operated by HorseCareFinder LLC (“HorseCareFinder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
If you’re creating or managing a provider listing, you’re also bound by our separate
Provider Listing Agreement, which governs the specific terms of listing a business in our directory.
1. What HorseCareFinder Is
HorseCareFinder is a directory that helps horse owners find equine service providers — veterinarians, farriers, boarding facilities, trainers, and other categories of service.
We are a directory and marketing platform only. We are not a party to, and have no responsibility for, any agreement, transaction, or service relationship between a horse owner and a listed provider. Any decision to hire, board with, or otherwise engage a provider found through the Site is solely between you and that provider.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit a listing. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You’re responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Acceptable Use
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in a listing, review, or inquiry
- Use the Site to harass, scam, or solicit users for purposes unrelated to legitimate equine services
- Scrape, copy, or republish directory data in bulk without our permission
- Attempt to interfere with the Site’s normal operation, including through automated bots, excessive requests, or security exploits
- Impersonate another person or business
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms.
4. Content You Submit
If you submit content to the Site — a listing description, photos, a review, or a contact form message — you confirm that you have the right to share it, and you grant HorseCareFinder a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as part of operating the Site. You retain ownership of your content; this license simply allows us to actually show it on the Site.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our reasonable judgment, is inappropriate, false, or harmful.
5. No Verification of Providers
HorseCareFinder does not independently verify the licensing, certification, insurance status, or qualifications of any provider listed in the directory. Listing information is submitted by the providers themselves. We encourage horse owners to independently verify credentials, licensing, insurance, and references before engaging any provider — the same diligence you’d apply to hiring any service provider found through any source.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its directory listings are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee that listings are accurate, complete, current, or that any provider will perform services to your satisfaction or safely. We don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Site.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HorseCareFinder is not liable for any injury, loss, damages, or disputes arising from:
- Services performed (or not performed) by any provider found through the Site
- The accuracy of any listing, review, or information submitted by a provider or user
- Any interaction, transaction, or agreement between a horse owner and a provider
- Any animal injury, illness, death, or property damage connected to a service obtained through the Site
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which a claim is brought, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold HorseCareFinder harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with any provider or user found through the Site.
9. Payments
Paid listing plans are processed through our payment processor, Stripe. By purchasing a paid plan, you agree to Stripe’s terms of service in addition to ours. Specific billing, renewal, and refund terms for provider listings are set out in our Provider Listing Agreement.
10. Intellectual Property
The HorseCareFinder name, logo, site design, and original content (excluding content submitted by users and providers) are owned by HorseCareFinder and may not be used or reproduced without our permission.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites, including providers’ own business websites. We aren’t responsible for the content or practices of any third-party site.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Site or close your account at any time.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
