About Our Equine Operations
Muirfield has been in equine and farm insurance since Michael Levy set it up in 1991; a University of Pennsylvania graduate, he has sat on the boards of TOBA, Breeders’ Cup Limited and the American Graded Stakes Committee. Nine staff work from 1019 Majestic Drive, Suite 310, among them COO Bryce Burton, with the firm since 2014, CFO Emily Estill, there since 2011, and senior advisors Julie Moses, a KHJA board member, and Del Pearson, who came out of Thoroughbred racing and breeding. Care, custody and control limits run in bands from $5,000 to $200,000 per animal against annual caps of $25,000 to $500,000, with enhanced options reaching $1,000,000 per animal. The equine farm package writes liability to $1,000,000 for show, boarding, training, breeding and riding-instruction operations.
