About Our Equine Operations
Founded in 1963 and still family-owned, Sallee ships from a headquarters at 2053 Buck Lane with a 16-stall, USDA quarantine-approved barn for layovers. The company builds its own vans and 53-foot trailers, running air ride tractors and straight trucks with low ramps, and fits vans with video monitoring. Shippers choose among three configurations: single stall, where horses travel three abreast cross-tied; stall and a half, two abreast; or a box stall the horse can move around in. Work covers racetrack moves, race-and-returns, breeding trips, horse shows, sale haul-ins and haul-outs, quarantine coordination and ground legs for airline connections, plus complimentary shuttles between neighboring tracks during select meets. Terminals also operate in Ocala, Florida and Elmont, New York.
