About Our Equine Operations
Ride for Joy operates the Sage Equine Center on the Hands of Promise campus in Caldwell, one of two PATH International Premier Accredited centres in Idaho and the only PATH-affiliated programme in the Treasure Valley. Founded in the 1990s and organised as a 501(c)(3) in 2007, the centre added programming for veterans and military families in 2014. Its instructional staff are PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors: executive director Gretchen Schulz, Ed.D., and equine-assisted services manager Sandy James-Sherman, both also PATH Intl. mentors, alongside Courtney Marshall. Programmes include adaptive riding lessons, the Barn Pals youth programme, an all-abilities camp, veterans horsemanship, and a Bonding Bridles programme for foster youth.
