Everything happens at the barn. Jordan Grossman, DVM, drives to clients within about an hour of Saratoga Springs, and the kit travels with her: a video camera passed into the stomach for gastroscopy — which the practice calls the only way to diagnose gastric ulcers — plus upper airway endoscopy for breathing and performance complaints. Dentistry is handled with a specialised dental endoscope, covering annual exams, floats, periodontal disease and simple extractions. Podiatry, reproduction, sports medicine, pre-purchase exams, geriatric care and emergencies round out the list. Grossman read ecology at the University of Georgia, took her veterinary degree at the University of Illinois, spent an internship year at 3H Equine Hospital in North Carolina, then worked as an ambulatory associate for Rood and Riddle in Saratoga Springs before setting up on her own.
