Hare Chase & Heckman has operated as an independent insurance agency since 1867, from an office in Exton. Agent Ashley Cichon handles the firm’s equine and farm line, writing liability coverage for boarding stables, horse shows, horse trainers and personal horse owners, plus care, custody and control policies, in addition to equine mortality and major medical coverage for hunters, jumpers, eventers and dressage horses. Because the agency is independent it places policies with multiple carriers rather than underwriting them directly. It also sells personal lines, including homeowners, auto and flood coverage, and commercial lines such as business owner policies and general liability, for clients outside the equine sector.
