About Our Equine Operations
Founded in 2000 and now marking more than 26 years at 6400 SW Martin Highway, this Palm City nonprofit works to the rescue, rehabilitation, retraining and adoption of at-risk equines. Fourteen horses are currently listed as available, among them Diamond Cool, a 17.1hh off-track Thoroughbred gelding born in 2020 described as a hunter/jumper prospect, and Eve, a 13.2hh Florida Cracker cross mare. Several are flagged companion-only or non-ridden; a separate roster covers horses in transition, not yet available. Prospective adopters complete an application. Those not ready to take a horse home can instead Champion one. The Begin Again Program retrains retired racehorses for second careers, run by Merriam Mashatt, a PATH Certified Registered Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning.
