About Our Equine Operations
Performance Equine Veterinary Services has worked exclusively on horses since Dr. Alberto Rullan founded it in 2009; he added the Equine Performance Innovative Center, or EPIC, in 2018 at 5590 NW Hwy 225 in Ocala. Rullan holds a VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (2006), interned at Louisiana State University’s veterinary teaching hospital, and is certified by the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology; Dr. Alfredo Lichoa and Dr. Colton Ramstrom also practice there. Listed services include lameness evaluation, pre-purchase exams, digital radiography, endoscopy, laminitis treatment, surgery covering angular limb deformities and field surgery, emergency care, and regenerative and stem cell therapies. Facilities include two 20-stall barns and air-conditioned therapy stalls.
