About Our Equine Operations
The assistant trainer here teaches biology at Wayne State University and holds a Master of Science in molecular biotechnology; Ricci Tarockoff also rides the farm’s horses at MHJA, HJAM and USEF-rated shows, with over two decades in the hunter/jumper world. Mary McKiernan owns the place and heads the training, having taught middle school before building forty years of hunter/jumper experience into a business. Lesson memberships are priced by the month: five flat lessons $300 and eight $455, or five jumping lessons $325 and eight $495. Riders outside a membership may buy singly for up to two months, at $85 flat or $100 jumping. Sixty-plus acres on East Oakwood Road in Oxford open directly onto the Metamora Hunt trails.
