About Our Equine Operations
Operating in Redding since 1972, Whimsy Brook Farm frames its work as a place where science and horsemanship join up, pairing boarding and instruction with an in-house wellness programme built around its resident veterinarian, Dr. Chris Benyei. Equine dentist Cheryl Cobb practises at the farm under his supervision, using hand and power floats to correct wedge mouth, parrot mouth and other dental problems. Veterinarian Dr. Brad Amery provides spinal manipulation and acupuncture through the same wellness programme, and certified equine trigger-point myotherapist Esmee Snyder addresses muscle spasms from injury or hard work. Dr. Candace Benyei, a licensed clinical psychologist and family therapist who has trained horses for five decades, oversees one-to-one equine-assisted therapy sessions and, with instructor Tara Benyei, teaches riding through a method called Aware Riding.
