Nicole Messer founded Unbridled Paths in 2016 and teaches its lessons herself as a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. The five-acre property on Silver Fox Lane in Palm Beach Gardens keeps four horses: the Quarter Horse Prince, Gavin, the miniature Buttercup, who works an outreach programme called Minis on the Move, and Willow, a Thoroughbred retired from racing as Midnight Tango. The organisation is a faith-based 501(c)(3) under tax ID 85-0867527 and an approved Step Up For Students provider. It puts the annual cost of keeping one horse at about $12,000 and funds that through donations, grants and sponsorships such as the Greifeld Foundation’s on Prince’s stall. Free support groups run for siblings, parents and caregivers.
