About Our Equine Operations
Equine-assisted therapy is booked here in individual, family and group sessions, described as addressing anxiety, depression and stress, and delivered by people the ranch calls qualified and compassionate therapists without naming them or their credentials. Riding lessons cost $90 singly or $300 a month for four 45-minute sessions, and cover beginners through advanced technique, with youth and family classes and guided trail tours. Lynn Metrow bought the Balkins Drive property in 1998 with her son Wyatt, whom the ranch calls the Horse Whisperer of Agoura, after keeping chickens put them at odds with neighbours; the old oaks have been kept standing and the place runs on solar panels, drip irrigation and a dry garden in place of lawn. Special events and workshops are hosted too.
