Polo is the organising idea on the 40 acres at 2011 Tanis Lee Lane, Wentzville, set up by founder and chairman Dr James J. Tong of ThorBay Holdings to support the growth of polo internationally, with sister operations named in Indio and Chengdu. Board comes in four shapes — stall, paddock, pasture and short-term — all fed Buckeye Gro N’ Win or Safe N’ Easy twice a day, with automatic waterers, winter blanketing and summer fly masking. Seventeen dry lot paddocks, eight grass pastures, two ponds and a creek back the turnout. Polo training sessions run for all levels, beginner and intermediate lessons giving 45 minutes mounted; general riding lessons are an hour at $65 for anyone seven and up.
