About Our Equine Operations
From an address on Vega Avenue in New Germany, this farm runs therapeutic riding alongside ordinary western lessons. The equine-assisted side is taught by a PATH Intl. Certified Riding Instructor with 10 years experience, Red Cross certified and insured, and the farm is blunt about the limits of what it does, stating that it does not provide hippotherapy or psychotherapy. It describes the work instead as an adaptive way of learning the skill of riding a horse while the rider receives the physical benefits of the horse’s movement, aimed at confidence, patience, listening and motor skills. Courses run six to eight weeks, 45 minutes a class, in groups of three to five riders or privately, and no family is turned away over cost. Western lessons are $30 a half hour or $50 an hour.
