About Our Equine Operations
Southern Pines Equine Associates works from Valley View Road in Southern Pines, grouping its services into general and preventative care, sports medicine and lameness, dentistry, and diagnostic imaging. Offerings include acupuncture, colic exams, digital radiography, ultrasound, lameness evaluations with nerve and joint blocks, pre-purchase exams and endoscopy. The practice’s dentistry page describes complete oral examinations, young-horse and geriatric dental evaluations, oral endoscopy, dental radiographs, caries restorations, periodontal treatment and extractions; that work is delivered through a stated partnership with an independent equine dental practitioner, Dr. Elaine Means, rather than by an in-house dentist. The office is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
