About Our Equine Operations
Eduardo Azpurua, a Venezuelan Thoroughbred trainer who had won that country’s Triple Crown, started this Morriston operation in 1978; his three sons still train Thoroughbreds, and the farm says it has bred thousands of horses with success reaching the Kentucky Derby. Its 115 acres of Argentine-Bahia grass carry seven pastures of 10 to 20 acres, two foaling paddocks and a stallion paddock. Outside owners can buy full board, pasture board or retirement board, the last with daily handling, weight management and automatic waters. Rehabilitation covers post-surgery care and lay-ups, short or long term. Broodmare work runs from preparation for artificial insemination or live cover, transport to a stud facility included, through gestation, foal watch and delivery, to sales preparation of weanlings and yearlings.
