About Our Equine Operations
Private riding lessons cost $60 an hour at Robinson Ranch, with semi-private at $50, groups of up to four at $40 and a structured riding club class at $30, all sold in six-week blocks. The non-profit has worked ground bordering South Mountain Park at 1231 E. Ardmore Rd in south Phoenix since 2000, founded by life-long horseman John Robinson, and calls itself the only minority owned and operated equine assisted learning and horse therapy center of its kind. Around 40 students ride weekly with more than 60 volunteers behind them. Therapeutic riding, equine assisted learning, equine assisted psychotherapy and Special Olympics sessions run alongside Western instruction. Boarding takes all breeds but no stallions, from $250 partial and $350 full for members, and 40 percent of board fees fund the therapeutic riding program.
