Trail riding along the Minnesota River fills the day at this Carver operation, a working ranch since 1962 spread over more than 400 acres with a string of 50 horses. An hour out costs $60 in cash or $63 on a card, two hours $120 or $125, and private rides with your own guide are $90 and $150 for a minimum of two people; children under 52 inches can take a half-hour pony ride for $30. Riders must be at least 52 inches tall, under 250 pounds, and have the physical ability to mount the horse unassisted, with one person per horse and a signed release for anyone under 18. Long trousers and closed-toe boots with a small heel are required. Pasture boarding is also offered.
