About Our Equine Operations
Peter and Mary Gregory started this place in 1984, and 335 acres now hold 140 retired horses, fifty of those acres left as native woods and wetland. Intake comes from law enforcement seizures, SPCA and humane society rescues and animals retired from government service; the farm states plainly that it does not accept horses from private owners, and that those who arrive will never be ridden or worked again. Running costs come to roughly $400,000 a year, met by donation and by sponsoring individual horses. A perpetual conservation easement bars development of the land. Peter died in 2014; Mary and their son Paul carry on with volunteers. Gates at 20307 NW C.R. 235A open on Saturdays from 11 to 3, free, carrots welcome.
