About Our Equine Operations
Lesson prices are published: $80 for a group, $90 semi-private, $110 for a full private, with ten-lesson blocks discounted and good for 180 days. Christine Vitkus founded the farm in 2003 and it now teaches from 50 acres of pasture with run-in sheds and automatic waterers on Foggy Bottom Road. Horses, ponies and tack are provided; group riders start at seven, private riders at four, and the Tiny Trotters preschool class takes children from two. Barn manager Lisa Herman is a USDF certified instructor, Judi Novak covers hunters and equitation for adults and teens, Ginny Joyner coaches the show teams, and Katie Decker and Amy Von Scholz teach dressage. The farm also runs its own hunter, jumper and dressage shows, starter horse trials, Pony Club and scout programs.
