About Our Equine Operations
Ronnie Meltzer founded this Hoffman Road centre in 1984; it now operates as a nonprofit premier accredited PATH Intl. center. Therapeutic riding takes participants from age four with no upper limit, in weekly lessons of thirty or forty-five minutes, usually in groups of two or three, with Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors setting goals alongside parents, guardians or caregivers and volunteers walking beside the horse. Anyone unable to ride is offered grooming, leading, tacking and other ground activities instead. Terms run September to December and February to May, with summer dates varying. Freedom Reins, run in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project, is open to veterans and serving military: natural horsemanship, round-pen ground work and long-lining, taken either as weekly hour-long sessions or as two-hour visits by a group.
