About Our Equine Operations
Adoption at this Jessamine County charity begins with a written application carrying a $25 non-refundable fee; once approved — approval stands for a year — applicants are invited out to meet the horses in person. Named horses are listed online with adoption fees between $500 and $1,500. The 72-acre Catnip Hill Road property describes itself as the largest all-breed equine rescue in the Commonwealth, taking horses regardless of breed and rehabilitating and retraining them. Alongside adoption it runs Stable Foundations, an eight-week course pairing companion horses with people who want to learn about horses outside a riding lesson: sessions run 1.30pm to 3.30pm, are capped at six participants, and cost $500 for an individual, $200 for a child of thirteen or under, $100 for a high school student and $1,200 for a family.
