The hay yard at the Chatsworth branch keeps its own clock, shutting at 6 p.m. while the store stays open until 8 Monday through Saturday; on Sunday both run 10 to 6. Hay is sold by variety rather than brand, from family farms: alfalfa, Bermuda, orchard, teff and timothy, plus straw, loaded into whatever vehicle a customer arrives in. Debi Todl manages the store, which sits about 30 minutes northwest of Los Angeles and stocks Kahoots-branded horse feed alongside chicken and livestock lines. Vaccination and teeth-cleaning clinics do run at this location, but they are delivered by Advanced Pet Service, an independent veterinary group, and cover dogs and cats rather than horses. Locally the store partners with Outta The Cage, a shelter-dog rescue.
