About Our Equine Operations
Penny Parker founded Horse Angels Rescue twelve years ago after visits to the New Holland auction, and the 501(c)(3) now operates from Thornbury Road in West Chester. The organisation takes in horses from owner surrenders, auction intercepts, slaughter-bound sales and neglect cases, then provides quarantine, veterinary and farrier care, and rehabilitation before placement. Adopters must complete an application, and horses are readied for new homes with health testing such as strangles PCR and Coggins tests along with dental and hoof work; some are offered at reduced fees to approved homes. The rescue states it has rehabilitated and placed hundreds of horses of all ages and breeds into homes across the United States.
