About Our Equine Operations
Three young women started this Perkasie rescue over a decade ago for off-track thoroughbreds; the farm on Forest Road now takes in other equines and animals too. The stated method is “Rehab, Retrain, Rehome” — animals are rested, retrained in accordance with their health and physical abilities, then “placed up for adoption and officially on their home stretch”. The roster names Jet Star, a 19-year-old OTTB gelding returned after injury; Purling, a 14-year-old OTTB mare suited to intermediate and advanced riders; Ivory, a Tennessee Walker; and Bandit, a paint gelding who cannot be ridden and stays permanently. Animals cannot be reserved and go first-come, first-served. A foster programme places those that do better in a house, and trained animals are lent to animal-assisted therapy organisations.
