About Our Equine Operations
A former North American Young Rider champion in eventing, Chrissy Gilbertson now trains hunters and jumpers and has worked on Boston’s North Shore for more than twenty years. Her yard at 106 Choate Street in Essex keeps professional staff living on the property. Riders work in two arenas — the indoor is described as one of the biggest around and has been relit with LED — and can hack out to the Sagamore Hill and Castle Neck reservations; turnout is spread across twelve new paddocks, with wash stalls and large tack and viewing rooms in the barn. Teaching is built on correct forward riding of the horse from back to front, with a plan set per horse-and-rider pair.
