About Our Equine Operations
Dr. Megan Mathias founded Hartland Equine Veterinary Services in 2020 after completing an internship at Woodside Equine Clinic in Ashland, Virginia. Based in Markham and serving Fauquier, Loudoun and surrounding counties as an ambulatory practice, Hartland lists wellness and preventative medicine, lameness exams, ophthalmic case management, minor field surgery, senior horse care, emergency coverage and in-home euthanasia for companion animals among its services. Its services page also names equine dentistry as a line of its own, describing oral exams, sedation dentistry, simple extractions and dental radiographs. Dr. Mathias states a special interest in ophthalmology and serves as vice president of the Virginia Association of Equine Practitioners. The practice publishes a post office box rather than a street address.
