About Our Equine Operations
Spread across 168 acres on Colorado Highway 86 in Franktown, Harmony Equine Center houses three barns for intake, training and adoptions, 26 pastures and turnouts, two indoor riding arenas and an educational centre. Operated by Humane Colorado, formerly known as the Dumb Friends League, the facility opened in 2012 to take in horses, ponies, donkeys and mules removed from their owners by law enforcement for abuse or neglect, and it also serves as a hub where equines from other humane societies and rescue groups receive training before rehoming. Staff and volunteers provide shelter, feed, veterinary care and training to prepare animals for adoption into new homes. The centre is open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
