About Our Equine Operations
Retirement horses and hunter/jumper students share the same barn on Tarr Road outside Paris. Michelle Shea, a second-generation trainer with more than 25 years in the horse industry and University of Kentucky degrees in business management, marketing and animal science with an equine nutrition focus, runs both sides. Full-care retirement board covers daily stall cleaning, customised feeding with hay and Triple Crown feed, carefully managed turnout, blanket changes, medication administration and coordination of routine farrier and veterinary care; places are deliberately few, and boarding or training starts with an application. Instruction concentrates on quality flatwork and classical equitation, tailored to each horse and rider. Shea is a certified Magna Wave PEMF practitioner and treats with the PEMF unit and a TheraPlate. Young horses are also developed and sold on consignment.
