About Our Equine Operations
Dr. John Marion, a Michigan State-trained DVM who began working as a veterinary assistant in 1986, established Castlewood Canyon Equine in Franktown in 1997 after gaining experience in Kentucky, Australia and England. He concentrates on lameness and sports medicine along with equine dentistry, and the practice describes him as a consultant working alongside equine dental specialists. Dr. Tiffany Colglazier, a Colorado State DVM with an undergraduate background in environmental health and microbiology and prior Hunter/Jumper competition, also sees patients. The clinic serves south-eastern Douglas and western Elbert counties and notes that its staff average nine years of tenure. Its Horse Wellness Program bundles twice-yearly physical exams with vaccinations, faecal exams and deworming. The clinic describes itself as small enough to treat clients and their horses individually rather than as one of many cases.
