About Our Equine Operations
A 60-mile radius around Colorado Springs — north to Castle Rock, east to Calhan, south to Fountain and west along Highway 24 to Divide — defines the ground this mobile practice covers from its Monument base. Dr Shilo Cavalcanti earned a DVM at the University of Wisconsin in 2016, completed a year’s internship at Kendall Road Equine Hospital in Illinois, and has worked as an equine veterinarian in Colorado since July 2017; the practice itself opened in 2024. Dentistry carries its own heading and runs from routine oral exams and floats through dental radiographs to extraction of certain teeth. Other work includes metabolic and laminitis management, ophthalmology, lameness and pre-purchase exams, Coggins testing and foal exams.
