About Our Equine Operations
Kai Handt left Kassel for the United States in 1985 and bought this Wylie yard. He had taken German bronze, silver and gold medals before turning 18, and held a Bereiter, FN licence from 1981 after apprenticing under Richard Krause; he later coached para-equestrian Jonathan Wentz to the 2010 World Equestrian Games and the 2012 London Paralympics. Schooling follows the German training scale, five days a week at $750 monthly or $50 per ride. Full care board costs $850, with a one-time $250 deposit for new arrivals and $50 more for five-day turnout. Half-hour privates are $60 with Kai or Julia Handt and $50 with an NTEC instructor; riders who trailer in pay $40 and must show health papers and a Coggins.
