About Our Equine Operations

A stone burr mill on the Hall family farm was grinding wheat and cornmeal in the 1940s; Bob and Bonnie Hall bought Farmers Feed Mill in Lexington in 1964, put the Hallway Feeds name on Thoroughbred farm rations in 1983, and moved to the Loudon Avenue plant in 1986. Lee and Julia Hall run the company now, and the plant at 251 West Loudon Avenue is described as medication-free. Branded lines include MuesliMax, Quantify and Encompass feeds plus the EquiMaas whey protein and amino acid supplement, grouped for racing, sport horse, and stud and nursery use, with supplements and balancers alongside. Race 13 and Prep 14 date from 1991. A 2023 solar array is said to offset 75 percent of the plant’s energy.
