About Our Equine Operations
The Loretto store at 6265 County Road 19 was the original Spike’s, opened in 2013, and the first in the group to stock full Pro Turf supplies. Since 2020, after Spike’s Feed, Seed & Pet Supply acquired E.J. Houle’s Feed Stores, it has traded under the combined Spikes & Houles name; the Houle side dates to a first sale from a horse-drawn wagon in 1916. Horse feed on the shelves comes from ADM, Buckeye Nutrition, Kent Sentinel, Nutrena, Purina, Power Gold and Triple Crown, with low-starch and low-NSC options, alfalfa and timothy pellets and cubes, and compressed bales. The store runs 8am to 7pm weekdays, 8am to 6pm Saturday and 10am to 5pm Sunday.
