About Our Equine Operations
Since 1969 this St. Michael farm has taken in other people’s broodmares to foal out, and it accepts “all mares regardless of size or breed.” Owners are asked to send a mare at least two weeks before her due date, preferably nearer a month. The solar foaling barn is watched around the clock by audio and visual monitoring, and high-risk mares are frequently referred here. An eleven-stall barn holds barren mares under cyclic lighting, with a separate yearling barn and an indoor turn-out area where newborn foals can exercise. Working alongside the reproductive staff at Anoka Equine, the farm also offers cooled and frozen A.I. and embryo transfer. Neonatal intensive care and post-surgical stall rest are taken on at 7910 30th Street NE.
