About Our Equine Operations
Hugo Feed Mill and Hardware traces to 1923, when the Marier family opened a country grain business grinding local grain and making livestock feed on the west side of what is now Highway 61 in downtown Hugo; fourth-generation owner Steve Marier runs the store today. Horse feed includes the mill’s own Sweet 10 and Sweet 14 sweet feeds alongside Nutrena products, alfalfa cubes and pellets, oats, corn, wheat bran, beet pulp, salt and trace-mineral blocks, barn lime, hay, straw and shavings. The store also carries fencing materials, fly spray and veterinary supplies for horses, plus feed lines for dogs, cats, poultry and other livestock. Beyond feed it operates as a hardware store, and offers soil testing, key cutting, screen repair and equipment rental.
