About Our Equine Operations
Despite the name, this nonprofit takes clients of all ages: its adaptive riding lessons are one-on-one and built around predetermined therapeutic goals for riders with cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, stroke, paralysis and learning disabilities. Instructors are trained, tested and certified through PATH International, and the center holds PATH Premier Accredited status — one of two such centers in northern Nevada. Programming reaches beyond riding into memory loss: a Memory Café, memory loss workshops and Comprehensive Life Skills classes. Kids & Horses has been operating since 1999.
