About Our Equine Operations
Eagle Mount Bozeman’s horsemanship programme is one branch of a nonprofit that also runs skiing, cycling, aquatics and cancer-support recreation, but the equine work operates on its own footing on Goldenstein Lane. Riders with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities, along with young people affected by cancer, are individually assessed before being placed into one-hour weekly lessons run in five-week sessions year-round. Sessions split between mounted work, which targets strength, balance, coordination and flexibility, and ground lessons built around handling and bonding with the horse. Instructors and the programme itself are certified through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International. Volunteers serve mainly as leaders and sidewalkers, giving roughly ninety minutes weekly per four-week block.
