About Our Equine Operations
A barrel-racing focus runs through JJ Arena’s boarding, lessons and training programmes in Balsam Lake, where an 80-by-150 indoor arena and an outdoor arena stay open to boarders at any hour. Boarding is open to outside horses through three options, a private paddock and shelter, a self-care stall with a three-month minimum, or shared pasture board, with hay included in each and a 30-day private-pen period required for new arrivals. Trainers Julie Johnson and Josie Johnson run separate training programmes priced by the two-week or monthly session, working only with horses that already have at least 30 rides under saddle; greener horses are referred elsewhere for starting. The pair also teach small lessons of one to four students, in person or through virtual coaching.
