About Our Equine Operations
Shari and Mike Brickman have run Long Grove Farms from their 40-acre property on Cuba Road in Kildeer since 1989, pairing decades in the horse industry with a separate background of more than 30 years in thoroughbred racing. The hunter-jumper facility offers saddle breaking, pre-track training and foaling services alongside boarding, lessons and leasing, sourcing sale horses from breeders both locally and abroad and preparing horses and riders for A-rated show competition. Its location, 35 miles north of Chicago, keeps it within reach of Chicago-area competitors while offering the acreage of a rural training centre. The farm keeps a handful of lesson horses on hand for students and is open six days a week, closed only on Mondays.
