About Our Equine Operations
A certified 501(c)(3) since 2000, Maryland Horse Rescue works from a farm at Westminster and is, in its own words, 100% volunteer run. The organisation states it does not sell horses but facilitates the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of those animals in its care, with a concentration on senior and blind horses. Adopters complete an application that must be approved before any horse leaves, sign an adoption contract, must be at least 21, and must live in Maryland or within four hours of the Westminster farm; horses cannot be resold, rehomed or bred, and must be offered back with 60 days’ written notice. Monthly sponsorships run $25, $50, $75 and $125.
