About Our Equine Operations
On 18 acres in western Lancaster County, the Schuch family has run Windswept Stables since 1997, offering shared-care boarding open to any discipline. Boarders muck stalls, feed and turn out horses themselves as part of a $500 monthly rate covering a rubber-matted stall, twice-daily grain, up to 30 pounds of hay daily, and group turnout on grass pastures weather permitting. The property includes a 200-by-80-foot lighted outdoor arena and a 140-by-70-foot heated indoor arena with a viewing area and kitchen, plus short trails and tack room access; jumping is not offered at the facility. Outside instructors may use the arenas with proof of insurance and a ring fee, and boarders can also book private lessons with the farm’s own instructor.
