About Our Equine Operations
A graduate of the Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine who followed it with a year-long internship in equine medicine and surgery at Iowa State, David W. Ramey, DVM, has run this ambulatory practice since 1987, working across Los Angeles and Ventura counties from a Chatsworth base. It is deliberately small: clients call, text or email him directly, and he lists round-the-clock availability for emergencies. Lameness work draws on ultrasound, digital radiography and the Lameness Locator, a digital motion sensor system. Other lines cover standing field surgery and castration, wound care, upper airway endoscopy, dermatology, ophthalmology, preventative medicine, pre-sale examinations, microchipping, Coggins testing for shipping and showing, and reproduction from fertility evaluation through breeding and pregnancy checks. He is a registered FEI treating veterinarian and has written thirteen books for horse owners.
