About Our Equine Operations
Founded in 1926 by Archie B. and Katie Johnson Parker as a dewberry, tobacco and vegetable operation, Terrace Ridge Farm is now a fourth-generation family farm run by Michael, Carol, Garin, Matthew and Hannah Parker between Vass and Carthage. The farm grows and bales coastal bermuda and Tifton 44 hay, marketed for horses at above nine per cent protein, along with cheaper cow- and goat-grade hay, sold as square or round bales for field pickup, farm-loaded pickup or barn storage that can hold up to roughly 8,000 bales, plus custom delivery for an added fee. Beyond hay the operation sells pasture-raised beef by the pound, quarter, half or whole steer, and provides pasture establishment, land clearing and farm consulting through its Terrace Ridge Academy programmes.
