About Our Equine Operations
Since 4 June 2016 the equine arm of this Yavapai charity has worked out of 3731 N Rd 1 W in Chino Valley, described on its own page as an adoption-focused program for horses in need of rehabilitation. Intake carries a bar: a horse offered for surrender must be under 20 years of age and have no chronic lameness or disease, and those falling outside it are referred to sanctuary instead. Horses leaving take their medical and training records with them, along with vaccinations, hoof and dental work, dewormings and training in basic ground and ridden behaviours. Adoption begins on the telephone with the Equine Supervisor, then a background check and a visit to the horse’s prospective new home, with support and follow-up afterwards. The yard is gated and accepts no walk-ins.
